That's where she sat. Where water met earth. Or, the bank. she sat at that bank nearly everyday, watching the life that flourished. Dragonflies zipped and zoomed past her nose, and fish would swim around the tip of her tail that was submerged in water, hoping to find a nibble of food. Unfortunately for them, there was only the admiring eyes of a she-cat there to watch.

Time would pass and she would be forced to leave with Clan duties nagging about her head like dragonflies. But today, she had just arrived, winding her way through brambles and bush to her hidden spot.
Where Water Met Earth..

Today, a surprise awaited the black and white shecat upon arrival. At first, it was indistinguishable, where it began and where it ended. But once it turned black eyes to her, she realized she had been looked at it's rump.

It was of medium size and covered in thick, shaggy brown fur. His large, buck teeth moved constantly, reminding her of a rabbits, as it gnawed on a stick. She took a step closer, curious.

The creature froze. She froze. In one, swift movement, it slapped his large, paddle-like tail against the waters edge, a torrent of sparkling pond water spraying her. Then the beaver dove back into his watery sanctuary.

Ashcloud spat water out and shivered. Her fur was soaked. But before she could do anything about her pelt, or even growl after the creature having caused the mess, an laughter erupted from behind her. Ashcloud whipped around, spraying some water about her.

A loud eruption of laughter escaped the large tom. His slick black pelt twitched as he hopped over to the side to avoid the wrath of Ashcloud. A smile was etched across his face.

"You have a little something on your ear," Taintedstar pointed out. He reached out with unseathed claws to batt an orangish leaf off her head. The leader leaped up to his favorite stone that projected out of the lake.

Ashcloud hissed in annoyance and shook her head and pelt vigourously, throwing up more water. She was more mad at herself than Taintedstar. Or mad at the beaver.

After she was relatively clean, her bad-mooded self set in as she gazed grumpily and silently over the water. As known, she hadn't been herself since Nightmoon left.... She had been more easily irratated and always in a bad mood. "What are you doing out here?" she finally asked, a frown still plastered on her face.

"The better question, what are YOU doing out here?" Taintedstar lazily flopped over on his belly. His paws stretched out on the warm surface of the stone. It was so sad for the fact that all the warmth and sunny skies would be leaving soon. "I have the right to be wherever I want." CloudClan's hearty leader gave a small yawn, and then stared down into the warrior's eyes.

"As do I." Ashcloud shot back, looking away the leader to the surface of the water. A frog splashed nosily into the pond, shooting like a wa rocket through the water and to the other side of the bank. He startled a small flock of ducks that had been lazily feasting on water plants. They took flight, blotching our some of the sun's rays with their wings.

Taintedstar smiled and rolled over to his back. He gazed up at the birds whom were fleeing. "Wouldv'e been a tasty snack," he whispered as green eyes followed a rather large duck. It shot out of sight and Taintedstar turned back towards Ashcloud. "You know, you really are an impressive fighter. I should be grateful to have you."

Ashcloud shot Taintedstar a sideways glance. What was he playing at? She just gave a gruff grunt of acknowledgement, still watching the gentle waves of the pond, from the splash of the frog, lap at the shore, her mind wrapped up in past thoughts.

Taintedstar let his head drop down staring into the water. A smile stretched across his face. I shouldn't.... But he did.
The black cat leaped down into the lake. Droplets of water leaked down from the shore and rocks around it. Fish darted away. The leader arose back to the surface of the water and floated on his back. His feet kicking a circle in the small lake, Taintedstar strained his neck to see Ashcloud freak out.

Surprise alighted Ashcloud's eyes when her leader, her supposedly noble and wise leader, launched himself into the pond. She tore herself back to avoid the spray. "What in the name of starClan are you doing?"
